I have been setting up farm-sized and hobby-sized yabby hatcheries for 30 years! It helps if you have a dam as you need a plan for when you hatch the yabbies, and dams a great because you can have fish in them too (see my book, "Fish For Farm Dams"). Or, you can hatch them, and keep some as pets for the kids!
All you need are a few items to put the hatchery together, then add water, electricity and of course, yabbies!
Yabbies are super easy to grow and look after, and delicious to eat! They are a fun self-sufficient project for any home, urban or rural, and great fun for the kids!
