The Mid Level version of the DIY Yabby Hatchery Kit is for those who want a fun family project, and moderate production of up to 3000 baby yabbies per hatching (with 2-5 hatchings per year).

 

 

 

 

The Mid Level Kit will allow you to hold up to 6 berried female yabbies per hatching, and therefore includes the following parts to assemble, sent by post, instruction videos accessed online, manuals, guides and materials to download and access to a Facebook support group for DIY hatchery builders and yabby enthusiasts. The author, Ian Campbell, has been working and consulting in the aquaculture industry in Australia for more than twenty years, working with fish in farm dams, growing them in tanks and combining aquaculture and hydroponics in the specialised growing method of aquaponics. Ian has worked mostly with commercially farming fish, however he has also worked on backyard projects, including his own where he has proven the ability and profitability of growing fish and veggies in a backyard of  less than a quarter of an acre in size. Ian is passionate about fish and sustainably growing food, and also has been educating people in the field for 15 years.
